The Allies

    A Witch is Born — The main protagonist. Cassandra is born an orphan with strange, mystical powers and a bizarre ability to control ravens.

  • Alleah Mansuell

    A Witch is Born — An attractive priestess of Plath, and former worshipper of Sinnis. She is as blessed by her god as she is by exquisite beauty. 

  • Anastasia Raine

    The Prophecy — A naïve and innocent member of the new Attins community. She has a heart of gold, and likes to help others, though most of her efforts fall short of expectations.

  • Ardna Kane

    Birthright — Cassandra’s twin sister, hidden by their father until the opportune time to reveal her. Unlike Cassandra, Ardna possesses black hair and dark eyes. Otherwise, they are identical twins.

  • Arrin Malik

    A Witch is Born — The captain of Pelesea’s army. Arrin is best friends with Kringus Brahmore and would give his life for him.

  • Aust Goodwright

    The Quest for Zolmex — A distant relative to Spring Goodwright and fellow prisoner with Cassandra and her sister in the Paradise Prison.

  • Baxter Von Glord

    A Witch is Born — An instructor at Victoria’s School of Magic. Baxter is not only a powerful wizard but is madly in love with Cassandra, who is half his age.

    A Witch is Born — Cassandra’s best friend and love interest. Binta cares deeply for Cassandra and will do anything to protect her.

    The Barbarian King — A faithful priestess of Sinnis, and ally to Alleah and Greyson. Chloe goes to great lengths to keep Alleah a devout follower.

  • Daro, the Keeper

    A Witch is Born — A ranger of the woods south of Pelesea. Daro is an ally to Pelesea and an admirer of Sasha De’Formen.

  • Emiline

    A Witch is Born — An elven vampire bride of Heinsvick. Despite her state of undeath, Emiline has a good heart and befriends Kessi Rho.

    The Barbarian King — One of the slaves captured by the Yaddaton barbarians who befriends Cassandra. They grow close in a short time, making Cassandra wonder if she is truly more attracted to women than men.

    A Witch is Born — A member of the original New Order. Leo is known as the most powerful wizard ever to live and battled Marnelphion centuries ago.

  • Mateon and Sitra

    The Awakening — A married couple that befriends Cassandra. Sitra is a sleeth with snake-like hair and a gaze that can petrify. She and her blind husband, Mateon, live in the Yaddaton Desert.

  • Mortemus Kane

    Birthright - Cassandra Rho’s father who is rumored to have discovered immortality through forced lichdom, eventually becoming a god.

  • Penelope Brahmore

    A Witch is Born — The half-elven queen of Pelesea. Penelope’s loyalty to Kringus and her city is unmatched.

  • Sabrina

    A Witch is Born — Kessi Rho’s best friend. The two grow close sharing a cell as virgin offerings to the demon lord, Marnelphion.

  • Sasha De’Formen

    The Barbarian King — An ice carofex that befriends Daro. Sasha is born with god-like beauty (to the human eye), but the ice carofex find her hideous.

  • Sloan L’Shans

    Birthright — The royal wizard of Pelesea under the rule of the steward, Jamison. She is a powerful witch who can use her powers naturally without the assistance of spellbooks or components.

  • Spring Goodwright

    A Witch is Born — The leader of the original New Order. Spring led the ill-advised charge to hell to destroy Marnelphion.

  • Treesha

    Birthright — A powerful druid who tolerates no evil, especially towards women.

  • Unis Rho

    A Witch is Born — The first surrogate mother to Cassandra and Kessi. She is the orphanage worker who found them, loved them, and gave them her surname.

  • Lady Victoria

    A Witch is Born — The founder of the school of magic in Pelesea. Victoria is the most powerful wizard in her corner of the world, and Baxter Von Glord is her best friend.

    A Witch is Born — The elven cousins to Penelope Brahmore. Von and Lenore are loyal to Pelesea and extremely dangerous when using a bow.

  • Bale Maflin

    Birthright — A powerful priest of Marnelphion sent by Neclesious the imp to assist Matilda with the Great Summoning.

  • Barktuck Misol

    A Witch is Born — A high priest of Meshlor. Barktuck is good friends with Ronnis D’Breeth and assists him in his quest to capture and torture Cassandra Rho.

    The Quest for Zolmex — The crafty goblin scout who tracks trespassers in his woods and fetches his tribe for ambushes if he determines they are easy prey.

    A Witch is Born — A mighty demon. Vasheba is Matilda’s designated torturer and looks forward to spending an eternity in hell with her soul.

  • Boz

    A Witch is Born — A fire carofex mercenary. Boz is as dangerous as he is mysterious, hailing from the monastery in Mecca-Loraine. He has never lost a fight or failed a mission.

  • Franklin Ruben

    The Quest for Zolmex — Cass’s father. Franklin is a wealthy citizen of Pelesea who serves as an advisor to Jamison Oland and blames Cassandra Rho for his daughter’s problems.

  • Glime

    The Awakening — A sleeth lord that rules the undercity of Port Racip and cares little for the self-proclaimed rulers of the surface parts of the city.

    Heinsvick

    A Witch is Born — The vampire lord of Novafontera. Heinsvick is a powerful sorcerer whose arcane abilities have carried over to his state of undeath.

    The Awakening — The nepalin demon who serves X’lor and plays hard with intruders to her home of Vasym.

  • Inuentas the Indominable

    The Barbarian King — The half demon messenger. Inuentas warns the current New Order of the prophecy centered around Casandra Rho.

    The Barbarian King — A barbarian warrior, loyal to his king, Maltor. His unusually mild temperament for a barbarian has allowed him to befriend Cassandra Rho.

  • Laci O’Para

    The Prophecy — The princess of Mayton, Laci is as unscrupulous as she is dangerous. Practiced in the art of brewing and handling poisons, she is a dangerous adversary once you are on her bad side.

  • Lud

    The Awakening — Glime’s strange goblin guide that has a most unusual diet.

  • Malikai

    The Barbarian King — A demonic sorcerer. Malikai uses his unique powers to assist Matilda and anyone else who doesn’t mind paying a steep price.

  • Maltor

    The Barbarian King — The vicious barbarian leader of the Serpent Tribe in the Yaddaton Desert. Maltor desires Cassandra Rho as a bride.

  • Nebrosh Geens

    Birthright — The fire carofex protégé of Boz. He does not conform well to rules or instructions.

  • Vixa

    The Barbarian King — A strong female barbarian of the Serpent Tribe who is not afraid to stand up to the barbarian males who feel women are inferior.

  • Wallium and Aurora O’Para

    The Prophecy — The king and queen of Mayton, their inhospitable ways are exceeded only by their unhealthy addiction to sex.  

The Good Deities

  • Icon of a raindrop

    Adlesk

    The god of mercy and empathy. He is worshipped by those who are good and compassionate. His symbol is a tear drop. He is Kessi Rho’s deity of choice.

  • Icon of a heart

    Anastia

    The goddess of love. She is worshipped by those who idolize sex. Her symbol is a heart.

  • Icon of a wand and stars

    Gella

    The goddess of magic. She is worshipped by those who are entuned to magic, many being wizards. Her symbol is a wand with a trail of stars. She is Cassandra Rho’s deity of choice.

  • Icon of hands holding the world

    Phena

    The goddess of creation. She is worshipped by kind-hearted individuals who believe nothing should be killed or destroyed. Her symbol is two hands holding the world.

  • Pylance and Olivia

    The god and goddess siblings that rule the Paradise Prison created by Kane. They were once deceased angels, but have been resurrected to rule Kane’s paradise. They have no worshippers other than those who may pray to them while in the prison. They have no known symbols.

  • Icon of a book

    Sinnis

    The goddess of wisdom. She is worshipped by those who are just and lawful. Her followers must be abstinent and are trained heavily for melee combat. Her symbol is an open book. She is Chloe Fraland’s deity of choice, and was once worshipped by Alleah Mansuell.

The Neutral Deities

  • Blorgis and Rayne

    The god of ice and the goddess of water, respectively. They are married and temporarily banished from the heavens for crimes unknown. They have no worshippers and therefore no symbols. They are minor gods trying to reunite and return home.

    Censah

    The goddess of elements. She is worshipped by those who crave power over the elements, especially carofex. Her symbol is a lightning bolt.

    Kane, the lich-god

    A powerful lich that discovered immortality, and is rumored to be the animated remains of Cassandra Rho’s father. He has no worshippers other than Cedric the Disciple. His symbol is Zolmex.

    Malebak

    An ancient black dragon that rules Swamp Ikma. His breath weapon consists of mouse-sized flies that eat his enemies alive. He is worshipped only by Breeston the Druid of Ikma. His symbol is a purple stone.

  • Icon of an 8 point star

    Plath

    The god of art and light. He is worshipped by travelers and artists. There are small factions that believe Plath desires them to enjoy sex as part of his tenets. His symbol is an eight-pointed star. He is Greyson Kavince and Alleah Mansuell’s deity of choice.

    Strenna

    The goddess of reptiles. She is worshipped by the inhabitants of the Yaddaton Desert and any others living in dry lands. Her symbol is a coiled snake.

The Evil Deities

  • Icon of a flame

    Bron

    The god of fire. He is worshipped by the freld race or sometimes fire carofex. He is the evil brother of Blorgis and spends his days torturing Rayne waiting for a mortal to make the futile attempt to save her. His symbol is a flame.

  • Icon of a spear

    Gorl

    The god of war and strife. He is worshipped by warmongers whose sole purpose is to spill the blood of the innocent, especially those who worship Sinnis. His symbol is a spear. He is Cerus the Grey’s deity of choice.

  • Icon of a skull

    Marnelphion

    The demon lord of the undead. He is worshipped by evil humans who desire his return to the mortal world through the Great Summoning ritual. His symbol is a human skull. He is Matilda’s deity of choice. She is the person tasked with the Great Summoning and obsessed with Cassandra Rho’s capture to ensure its success.

  • Icon of a broken halo

    Meshlor

    The god of sin. He is worshipped by those who excessively partake in pleasures that violate moral principles. Many worshippers are proficient alchemists who can make deadly poisons while Meshlor offers immunity to such creations to his devout. His symbol is a broken halo. He is Barktuck Misol’s chosen deity.

  • Icon of a pentagram

    Nezeratu

    The demon lord rival of Marnelphion intent on foiling the Great summoning. He has no known worshippers. His symbol for those who dare to embrace him as their god is a pentagram.

  • Icon of a cracked canine skull

    Nphmels

    The god of insanity. He is worshipped by the insane and the genius alike, but only by those why don’t value life. His symbol is a cracked canine skull.

  • Icon of a weeping willow

    X’Lor

    The god of plants. Also known as The Mystic, X’lor is a fallen god, punished by his peers to a lifetime in Vasym Woods where it perpetually rains ash. The only worshippers are those that discover one of the many tomes of X’lor and try to harness its powers, usually to their detriment. His symbol is a weeping willow tree. Binta Mulay sought him out after becoming enlightened by a tome.

  • Icon of a dagger with drops of blood

    Yethmoral

    The god of chaos. He is worshipped by those who disregard rules, lawfulness and life. The more unpredictable something is, the better his worshippers enjoy it, even at their own detriment. His symbol is a dagger dripping blood.

  • Icon of a sack

    Zernah

    The goddess of greed and envy. She is worshipped by those envious of others, as well as any who crave material possessions. Those who are unattractive and want to punish those blessed with good looks flock to this goddess. Her symbol is a sack of coins.
